1. The law relating to administration of Cantonments is being administered by Cantonments Act (41 of 2006).
Other rules followed:

● Cantonment Fund Servants Rule 1937
● Cantonment Land Administration Rules, 1937
2. Birth and Death registrations are done as per the “ Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969”.
3. The Citizens should register the Birth and Death in the concerned local body by submitting the application in the prescribed format. The registration data as per the applications are uploaded in the “SEVANA” Software, developed by Information Kerala Mission, Govt. of Kerala.
4. The public can obtain the Birth and Death certificates from the Kerala State Govt. website cr.lsgkerala.gov.in. This site provides details of all Births and Deaths electronically registered in Local Governments (Registration units) where “SEVANA” application software of Information Kerala Mission is being used uninterruptedly for registering these events.
5. Correction for erroneous entries shall be done by the Registrar of Birth and Deaths, on receiving the applications from the Citizens. The corrections are made as per the provisions mentioned in the Registration of Births and Deaths Act.
6. Citizens responsibilities: Citizens are responsible to register the Births and Deaths within 21 days of occurrence of Birth or Death.
